your better off with the 93 cobra meter and cobra EEC. I thought you was running a pro-m or something thats why I made the comment about possibly needing a better meter. From my reading the factory stuff is pretty accurate.
I wouldn't do anything besides tune-up items (plugs, clean air filter), keep timing and fuel pressure where you have it now and just get that first run in and see where the a/f ratio is and how it looks across the rpm range... and how much power it makes.
I'd slap some fresh plugs in it if I was going, or at least check them. Looks like your combo is maxed out buddy, once you get your dyno and A/F I guess you'll see how well your mass air meter is doing or not doing. Mass air meter and tune with chip or quarterhorse might be all thats left to do.
Bob, what is the color of your Cougar? I sure like it. Also the 408 must be massive for the need of a hood scoop. Have any photos?
Thanks it's been a journey with the whole build. If I was doing it all over the motor would have fit better with aftermarket kmember and instead of the trickflow R intake I could have used a supervic Efi and an elbow to save space and get it under stock hood. The scoop is just temporary for now till I either buy a cowl hood or make one. The color is stock for 88 xr7 I forget the name..maybe scarlet red?
Just click the link in my sig if your interested in seeing the build.. All the ups and downs are right there lol
LOL, I backed right into the garage wall in a garage we rent with my cougar yesterday. I'm so use to my explorer now with the backup cam and beeping thing. I have seen double din radios with all the bells and whistles your talking about, they don't come cheap and you would have to do some modding to get it to fit.
If so what spacers you running with your MM caster/camber, and how much strut shaft you have past the nut? See pic
I didn't measure the stock height as a refrence when I was putting the car together. I'm going over the car now before taking it for allignment and realized I have more strut shaft on one side than the other so my spacer choice on one side is wrong. Just curious what everyone else with this combo uses.
On my driver side I have only 1/4" of strut thread showing, and driver side has about 1/2".. so I guess I used that little space underneath cause the tops are the same.
So prior to you installing the plugs it was fine? Did anything weird happen when you installed the plugs? Like maybe you dropped one on the ground, picked it up, and popped it in? I had that happen years back when and the plug was damaged after it fell.
Double check the firing order again, don't forget you need non-HO firing order...not the 5.0 mustang firing order.. pull plugs and check the gap on them. Take a video with your phone and post the running condition if you can.
It's been a couple months, things been moving this week. Getting windshield installed Wednesday by safelite ($208 on site), got some new tires today in the mail, getting alignment and inspection done next weekend. Ordered wideband O2 tonight to finish up tune with willie @dirtydirtyracing.
It's the dogbone weight in the picture. Send me a paypal price for everything that the weight uses to bolt on the rear (nuts, bolts.. etc) shipped to 19102.
