My 84 bird SN95 8.8 axle, 5-lug front spindle / cobra brake upgrade is nearly complete. I am now looking toward wheels and tires. I would like to use the 03 Cobra wheels and tires from LMR. I'm wondering if they will fit correctly. Below is a rundown of my configuration.
1998 Mustang 8.8 axle with cobra disk brake conversion
95 mustang front spindles with 13" brake upgrade
stock front lower control arms
I really dont want to spend that money to have them not fit. Im thinking they will fit fine as most mustang wheels will fit.. but wanted y'all opinion/confirmation. Thank you.
I am swapping the old 7.5 to a Stang 8.8 from a 98GT. I am going to go with the cobra brake's. One of the issues is how to line up the brake hard lines.. The mustang has the brake lines on the driver side, the bird has it on the passenger side. Do i swap brake hard lines from the mustang? Is there a easy way to get around this? Thoughts?
Ok, i have taken the plunge on my old t-bird. I figured what the hell. it is sitting there with no engine or trans . I had her a long time ago set it up for a manual trans. I blew my 5.0 250 miles after he installed a super duty T-5. I have a aluminum fly wheel with the neutral setting for the super coupe engine. i found a super coupe engine on crageslist a long time ago for 250.00 with manual trans attached. Because the stock 5-speed is a mazda setup. i sold it for 250.00. BAM f:burnout: ree 3.8SC. $50.00 on ebay for all the wiring harness :D . A case of beer and $50.00 for my electrician friend to help wire her up. $20.00 for a pair of stock 94 mustang 3.8 headers. But... now i have ran into a issue. "im sure first of many"
Engine mounts. MY bird was a 5.0 at one point a long time ago. now i need 3.8 mounts. any one have any 80's 3.8 mounts with brakets? Also i was looking online at the 94/95 mustang 3.8 mounts. they look like they may work. Any one have any ideas?
i need the upper engine mounting plates off of a 84-88 tbird/cat. i am doing a engine swap from a 5.0 to a 3.8SC from a 90 SC. the engine mounting plates on the 3.8 are different from the 5.0.
Recently i got my bird running. i installed a FMS t-5 HD trans. got the car running, drove for a while, and blame the timing cover seal went and the radiator drained into my crank case. kaboom go's the 5.0.
My friend has a 89SC. he also purchased a rolled 89SC for parts. he has not touched the 89 parts car. it still runs and it is is also a stick. my question is can the parts that i just purchased for the t-5 swap bolt to the 3.8l. i know they are the same bolt pattern and such. will the fms clutch i got work?
arnt the motor mount the same? i know the wiring is going to be a PITA. any other info any one?
i am going to put a 6-speed in my bird. which one should i use? the Richmond or the Ford Motorsport. i have a turbocupe parts car that i got the clutch peddles out of. i am going to get a new drive shaft. going with aluminum, and i know i will prob have to have it modified. also any one have any opinions on which clutch i should use?
