Stock rear brake drums

1986 cougar xr7 2.3 turbo 5 speed! Original owner about 100 k on car. The rear brake drums are original factory from ford. When do u change them to new drums are there a miliage on-the drums, to change for new drums

When they are less than 1/16 inch thick. Have you ever had them re-turned to smooth them up in the life of the car?
Places that do that work will tell if they are too thin and need replacing.  They check them with a micrometer.

No just all rear brake hardware ,shoes and wheel cyls drums original

86 xr7 should have the larger 10" drums. These were hard to find about 10nuears ago, if you can find a replacement set, I would pick them up.

Rock auto has them, I got a set from them last year.
