Lounge / Bar stools, anyone?
I found one of these about 6 years ago, and then more recently found the second(right) one. When I saw it, it was the only other one I'd ever seen in town, so I snagged it. It isn't the same quality, not by a long shot, so I'm thinking of putting the "new" one in the garage as a working stool when there is room.

Thought I would share with you guys.

At The Track / Ford Fever in Oregon!
At the Woodburn Dragstrip, August 21!  I will most definitely be there, and I hope to make a few passes down the track. There should be two other T-birds(Our years) there, although I'm sure they aren't on the forums. So, let's see if we can get a couple more there(TED!).

  Come on guys!

Lounge / So I was looking at boating sites...
and happened to stumble upon this old ad photo:

Take a closer look:

Sure looks like an 85/86 Tbird tail end to me!

Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool.

At The Track / Guy from work wants to race! (At the track of course)
So why do I feel like this is not going to go in my favor?!

What I know about his car: 80's Pontiac with a "crate" Buick 3.8L, "mildly" hand-ported heads(Gasket match, etc), stock cam, 650Cfm Carb. Stock exhaust.

Rear axle from a Camaro with 3.83's? Automatic trans with a 3k Stall converter.

I haven't run my car at the track with the 5-Speed and the 3.73's yet, nor did I have the carb dialed. (It still isn't completely, but it's better) It ran a 17 something previously(2.73's and a C5)

I figure I'll step up the metering rods again(I backed them down for cruise economy), and I already bumped the springs up, so I should get really good fuel flow, but I have a feeling that if nothing else, the fact that he's driving an auto will kill me, since mine doesn't shift all that great(Unless you reef on it, which I will be doing).

Anyways, I'm starting to get excited, I just figured I would post up and gather thoughts.

P.S. If anyone local wants to meet at PIR next month, hopefully CadTbird will come down and we can have some fun!

Lounge / Anyone headed to Vegas for NASCAR?
If all goes accordingly, I'll be leaving Thursday(March 3rd) morning in the Thunderbird, and back the following Tuesday(March 8th). Should be sweet!:roxor:

  So...Who's coming with me?!:poke:

Electrical Tech / Fuel sender resistance and gauge readings
So, I'm thinking about picking up a 4-1 gauge that includes a fuel indicator. The resistance for it is said to be 240 E/ 33 F.

According to Eric on Coolcats, the 83 Sender would be 75 E / 10 F.

Anyone happen to know what that would look like if they were used together? Should I probably just go get a universal sender?

Let me know, and thanks in advance.

Drivetrain Tech / Clutch cable adjustment? - Fixed - Trans in
So, I'm hoping to get the car in for the 5-Speed swap on Friday, but I just installed the cable and Fiore firewall adjuster and about 1/4" out from the 'wall, it hits the brake booster. I still have the stock mustang quadrant in the car, so, my question is, with an SN-95 cable and the added spacing of the adjuster just off the firewall, the cable should be able to engage the clutch right? The cable only has 60k on it.

With Sn-95 Cable, Fiore firewall adjuster, and the stock 87-93 adjustable quadrant, the cable is just barely long enough to disengage the clutch.

Need to swap booster and quadrant out for better control over pedal free play.

Lounge / Know a good Ford diesel site?
I just got taken on a "new to me" truck, which means it needs a lot of work that the seller didn't disclose. So, I am trying to discern which of the 18 different sites dedicated to Ford 7.3L I should join to learn the best ways to repair/service it.

It's a 1993 F350 7.3L 5-Speed.

Thanks guys!!

Drivetrain Tech / Darn pedal swaps...
So, that was a fun way to spend 6 hours...NOT! Finally got finished putting the car back together about an hour ago, unhooked the speedo since it won't work with my 5-Speed. Managed to tweak the column shift linkage while removing the column, so now I have no Park. Guess I'll have to crawl under there this week and re-adjust. Good thing I fixed my E-brakes!

Can't believe it took me that long...
