I am sorry to say that the Thunderbird Cruise scheduled for June 6, 2008 at 6:00 pm at Family Ford is cancelled for 2008! Family Ford and Greg Stevenson in particular is involved with the ALL Ford Nationals at Carlisle and will not be logistically able to have the ALL Thunderbird Cruise In event due to that involvement! Being in contact with Greg, he did however mention that it might again be a possibility again in 2009! Once again I would like to thank Family Ford ad all of the Thunderbird owners for all of their support and Family Fords fantastic hospitality in past years and with any luck a future Thunderbird event!
I am again sorry for this late news but I only found out today that the event will not be held and I am doing my best to contact all who have an interest in this event! Feel free to pass this along to anyone else that you may know who was or is interested in the status of this event!
I am in the process of making many changes to this site for 2008. The Ford Show listing will be divided up by month to make the list more manageable. The International Thunderbird Club (ITC) will be holding its 13th Annual International Convention August 14-20, 2006 in Salisbury North Carolina. The convention will be based out of the Holiday Inn on Jake Alexander Boulevard. For reservations call 704-637-3100 and mention the tracking code: 2-ITC.
The 2006 ITC Convention will be the ultimate “Family” Thunderbird Experience of the season! This will be a 7 Day Thunderbird event open to all Thunderbird owners and enthusiasts from 1955-2005! To partite in this convention you do not need to be a member of the ITC (however ITC members will receive discounted pricing). Here are “some” of the events that are currently planned, Driving Tours and stops at: Childress & Reylen Wine Tours, Tour of Old Salisbury including Trolly Car, Reed Gold Mine, NASCAR Garage Tours, Dennis Carpenter’s Manufacturing area and Museum, The North Carolina Transportation Museum, the Memory Lane Museum, There will also be a Monday welcome party, golf for those interested, evening Barbeques and a Queens landing Dinner Cruise on Lake Norman! A fantastic list of activities and did I mention shopping and Ice Cream Stops! This years convention will culminate with Saturdays Thunderbird Concours Show during the day at the Holiday Inn, being topped off Saturday evening with the awards banquet. Family Ford will open its lot to Thunderbird owners from 6:00 p.m. till around 9:00 p.m. and will be providing Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, beverages and even a few trophies for ALL Thunderbird Enthusiasts that attend this event with their Thunderbird. * June 3-5, 2005 Carlisle PA ALL Ford Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. This year Carlisle is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Thunderbird with 2 separate Special Displays plus the usual "FUN FIELD" Thunderbird Display Classes.
1) The first will be a Thunderbird "Evolution Display"! A display row of one of each year of Thunderbird produced form 1955-2005. This is an outside display that the Carlisle operators do not want the vehicles to leave the grounds once they are set. All vehicles need to be in place by 10:00 am Friday morning and stay until 3:00 p.m. Sunday. More information to follow!
2) The second will be a display in Building Y of rare and limited edition Thunderbirds examples would be but not limited to: 57 E & F Codes & Battle Birds, 57 E & F Models 60 Sun Roof, 60 Allegheny Stainless Steel, 1963 Princess of Monaco, 65 Special Landau, 1967 Apollo, 78 Diamond Jubilee, 79 Heritage 1980 25th Anniversary, Fila, Elan 1985 30th Anniversary, 1990 35th Anniversary, 1995 40th Anniversary, 1997 limited Edition, 2002 Neiman Marcus, 2003 007, 2004 Pacific Coast Roadster, 2005 50th Anniversary Limited Edition etc. Those individuals selected to be inside the building will need to arrive on "Thursday" and leave the car in the building throughout the show, they will not be able to drive it in the evening. Sunday at 3:00 will be the check out time.
Each partint in the 2 special displays will receive a special partition shirt (there will be a partition form created which will be mailed to each partint).
Vehicles in both of the displays will not be considered for class partint ballot awards! Vehicles in the display will be considered for celebrity pick awards.
