Lounge / Got a new car
Last weekend, I went and bought a new car (new for me). I got an '09 Ford Focus. It's a 5 speed on the floor. Gets great gas mileage.... I think I'm gonna love this thing!

Lounge / Cougar Update
As for the '97, it's still off the road for now...

As for the '85, we took it to the shop and have had all the gaskets replaced. They also replaced the belts (no charge to us since someone there accidentally threw them away), and they cleaned the PCV (?) valve, to try to clean up some of the oil blow by...however, they said that without a full rebuild, that will continue to happen along with engine weakness.
The guy was impressed with how the car looked overall and especially how the engine looked once he had it apart... no sludge or anything like that in it.

Anyway, it will be going to Cody and Harleigh now. We had originally gotten it for him and I really hate to even sign it over, but we promised, so....
 he is getting it.
However, we did make him promise that it comes back to us if he decides he doesn't want it any longer.

Hunter's T-bird isn't running great right now, we just got him a new battery and solenoid for it, so it starts easier but it needs some work to make it reliable, which he is having done soon.  So both boys with have reliable cars on the road soon... both of which are fox bodies.

Hopefully it won't be long till we have the '97 on the road again, but for now, it will have to wait.

Lounge / Finally got our truck back
We finally got our truck back from having the engine put into it... man have I missed that thing!
I took it and the paper work from having the work done, into the insurance adjuster yesterday. It's slightly possible that our comprehensive will cover it, but we aren't sure. I'm not counting on it, it would just be a bonus to us if it does.

Painting our new house this week, planning the move this weekend. I hate moving but can't wait to get into the house.

It's been so crazy busy this summer, it will be nice to take a breather once we get moved.

Lounge / Can you all do me a big favor please?
After all the stuff that has gone on the past few months with our family and with how hard Roger works everyday ( for those who don't know he's a truck driver and delivers to restaurants and other food service places and unloads his entire truck by hand everyday. He also puts in roughly 60 hours in a four day period).... anyway, he really needs a vacation.
Can you go to this site and vote for him please?

It's listed as Roger G. and it's a photo of him pushing all our kids on the merry go round at the park last year.

Thanks!!

Sorry about that, I accidentally posted the wrong link to begin with... stupid copy/paste! lol

Lounge / Weekend from hell....
ok,,,so my weekend began with my brother being rushed to the hospital with suspected heart attack... so far they can't find anything wrong with his heart and he was sent home yesterday. He is still undergoing tests, but they have no idea whats wrong with him...he is feeling better.

3 a.m. Sunday morning, Cody woke Roger up and asked him to take him to the ER. He had started feeling sick Friday night and was having stomach pains, but thought it was just the flu. Turns out it was his appendix and it was perforated and leaking infection into his system. Once they got the surgery going, they found out it actually was gangrenous and he had a lot of infection which they are treating with antibiotics through an IV. He's still in a lot of pain but getting better. He's still running a fever too.

After Roger took my mom home from being at the hospital with us, he was on his way back to the hospital when the truck stopped running on the high way. We had it towed yesterday and the garage said it was the battery but after changing the battery it sounds like the engine is going to seize... this won't be covered by the warranty if we can't produce proof of regular oil changes, which we can't....so we might be screwed with that.

Sunday night after being at the hospital all day we went to Dawn's apartment for dinner since it's close to the hospital and we stayed for a few hours... then when we were leaving, the steps were slippery cause of rain and I fell down them... my back is bruised badly along with my arm and a spot on my leg. I am really sore still.

Oh and on Saturday, my niece and her husband who just had their baby last week, were driving and were hit by another car, totaling their van...no one was hurt though, except a few bruises.

So.. that was my weekend from hell.... so ready for something good to start happening...although I am thankful that there were no more serious things than this... my brother is ok so far, Cody is ok because we caught it and no one hurt in the accident....so there are blessings included too.

BTW, the doctor said that this has been building with Cody for a while now, he couldn't believe Cody wasn't sick till Friday or had severe pain till Sunday... he said it all started way before Friday.

Lounge / No more OTC....
So, Ohio Technical College is now out of Hunter's future... he has decided to go to WYOTech in Blairsville, PA..... he is still taking Auto body collision repair and will take the Street Rod course.... Cortney also is going for the Auto Body collsion repair and business.... and shock and great surprise...
Dakota signed up today to go too!
He will be taking Auto Mechanics and High Performance Engines.....

The placement rate for jobs is 89% and higher in their field choices. They will all be done in June of 2011, unless they decide to add a 3 month course after that.

I am so excited about this for all of them. They also plan to go into business together later... so they can take care of engine and body work and will be certified in many areas.

So.... now you all will know who to come to when your cats and birds need some TLC!
WOOT!

Lounge / I know someone posted about Cougars in movies...
I was wondering if anyone had mentioned "From Dusk till Dawn" in there... we watched it last night and Hunter (thats my boy!!) said, "Hey, that's a 68 Cougar" as soon as he saw it...I looked it up and sure enough he had the year correct.

totally cool catch on his part.
