Vendor/Seller Feedback / 1Bad88tbird A+ Seller!
Just picked up a fresh drivers side window glass for my '88 TC from 1Bad88tbird. Great guy to deal with, and prices his stuff very fairly.

The glass arrived without a scratch, thanks to his exceptional packaging.

Would definitely do business with again!

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 87-88 TC Clear Inner Corner Lamps
I'm looking for the 87-88 TC Specific Clear Inner Corner Lamps. These are specific to the TC, and are different from the regular 87-88 Bird's inner corners. These would be the ones situated directly next to the middle section of the header panel, and next to the inside of both headlamp lenses. I'm looking for a set that does not have any stress cracks in the lens, and am willing to pay a premium finders fee for them if they are really nice. Let me know what you have.

Thanks,
  -B

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / DS Door Window Glass
I scratched the hell outta my DS window glass while I was removing it for paint. While only an inch long, the scratch is so deep that my fingernail catches on it easily, so no point in trying to polish it out. So, I'm looking for another DS Window Glass. Needs to be relativity nice, fit an 88 Turbo Coupe, and of course be scratch free. Let me know what you have.

                                                                                Thanks,
                                                                                        -B

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / WTB: Brake Pedal from 5.0 T-Bird/Cougar/Mustang
I'm converting my 88 TC over to Vac-Assist brakes, and the Vac-booster rod does not fit the stock brake pedal, the mounting points are different. So, I need the Brake Pedal from a 5.0 car which will fit the '88 Mustang Vac-Booster. Any Brake Pedal from a 5.0 Bird/Cougar/Mustang should work. Too busy with work this time of year to go junkyarding myself, and my car is stuck in place until I find the brake pedal that I need, so if someone could help me out, I would seriously appreciate it. Help a Bird see glory on the road again this summer.

Misc Tech / A/C & Front Mount Intercooler
This is a question for those of you who have r-134a A/C setups in your Fox, with a Front Mount Intercooler installed as well.

How well does your A/C work? What temperature does the air blow out of the vents at idle/cruise? I'm looking to keep the A/C in my Bird no matter what, even when I go with a larger turbo, but am wondering how well it will actually work with the A/C Condenser sandwiched between the extremely hot Intercooler and Radiator. I understand that r-134a setups typically require more volume of cold air flowing through the condenser, to prevent short cycling of the compressor, than what R-12 setups do. I'd imagine that cold air will be hard to come by with a 350F + hot plate mounted right in front of it. Maybe add a pusher e-fan in front of the condenser? Anyone with experience here?

Engine Tech / Trying to Diagnose a No Start Condition
Trying to diagnose a no start condition here, without throwing any parts at the car. This is for my 1980 Lincoln Continental Mark VI, which has the SEFI 5.0 HO w/ Mass Air setup from an '91 T-Bird transplanted into it.

The car has been sitting for the winter. Today, I went to the garage where I have her stored and tried to fire her up, but got nothing. I verified that the Fuel Pump is cutting on, and the EEC Relay is clicking each time that I turn the key to On. I went to check the fuel pressure at the schrader valve, and got nothing but air, fuel is not even getting there. I pulled the hose off of the send line, and verified that the pump is indeed pumping gas through the line like it should. Pulled the Vacuum line off of the Fuel Pressure Regulator, and didn't smell or see any gas coming out of the top. Could the Fuel Pressure Regulator be to blame here for fuel not getting through to the valve? I've never had that happen before if so. If not, what is the next thing I should check?

Thanks for any help.

User Rides / My '88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe (New Paintjob in Progress)
It's starting to warm up here finally, so it's time to start my Bird on the road to paint. Due to being extremely busy at the shop this time of year, they (my bosses) have kicked my Bird out into the street. So, I'll be doing the Body Work and Jamb painting at home inside my Portable Garage. If your wondering why I don't have a real garage at my house, I live in an old historic neighborhood, and you cannot build or modify anything here without tearing through miles of legal red tape. Which I'm still in the process of doing here, so that I can build my 24x24x12 attached garage. Until then I have a Bird to paint and get out there for show season, so my 14x22x12 portable garage will do the job of protecting the car while it's apart, and protecting it from the weather, while I do body work. I still will be laying down the BC/CC in the paint booth at work though.

Here she is, as she sits currently. Patiently awaiting to be taken apart. This car has never been in even a minor accident, and it has a very straight and dent/rust-free body, so I don't have much bodywork/rust repair to do here. So, this shouldn't take long. Thank god for that, because I already miss cruising in my baby, and want to get back out on the road asap. I'm not a fan of red cars whatsoever, and have been wanting to change this cars color ever since I first brought it home.

I had an epiphany awhile back, that I paint  near everything Gloss Black, and that I need to start expanding my car collections color palette. So, after much tumultuous thought, here is the color is ended up going with. Midnight/Fathom Green Metallic, which is an old muscle car color from the 60's. Yes, I know it is of 69-71 GM origin, but I could care less about that, I just love the color.

Work starts this weekend. If my timeline plays out perfectly, she should be done, ready for cruising, and the show circuit by May 1.

Thanks for looking at my thread, and Stay Tuned!

Body/Appearance/Interior / 87-88 Bird without the Side Trim?
Looking for a pic, if anyone here has one, of a 87-88 T-Bird with the Rubber Side Trim that runs down the side of the doors and the front/rear parts of the fenders, removed, and then smoothed out/painted. I'm interested to see how it will look, before I take the plunge with mine, as my bird is in the process of being worked over for paint right now. Thanks...  -B

User Rides / My New Sleeper Project
Thought some of you classic Ford guys here would appreciate this. This is our dear Fox's cousin in Ford goodness, The Panther. Specifically, a 1980 LTD 2-Door Slicktop base-model. I wanted something to build into a drag-race Sleeper. Something that no one would ever suspect would be fast. This granny ride should fit the bill nicely, and should help me embarrass quite a few people at the track. A built 460C is in the works for this car as we speak.

It has been an NC car its entire life, and is around 95% rust-free overall. Body is  straight as well, which is what sold me on this one. I replaced the Hood and Decklid with nice junkyard panels awhile back, since the original's where rusted out. Still has the stock 302 with Variable Venturi Carb, which runs like a raped 140hp ape once you get it warmed up.

Enjoy the pics!

Anyone else here have a thing for 1979-2012 Ford Panthers? I have an '04 Lincoln Town Car as well, which is a pleasure to daily drive.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Rubber Door Trim Strips
I have a '88 Turbo Coupe that I'm going to be swapping an n/a V8 into very soon next year, so I need to replace the Door Trim Strips which have the "Turbo Coupe" badges recessed into them.

I am looking for both the (DS/PS) Rubber Door Trim Stripes from a Regular/Sport Thunderbird, which are smooth all the way across, and don't have the cutout for the "TC" badges to be set into them. Let me know what you have, thanks!

Body/Appearance/Interior / White Face Gauges
Who has 'em? I'm thinking about picking up a set off ebay, for my '88 Turbo Coupe.

Post up a few pics of them installed and illuminated, if you have these. I'm interested to see exactly what it will look like once in the car.
