Engine Swapping / need help on a 86 t-bird v8 swap
the 3.8 uses a SBF bellhousing pattern so yes the transmission would work. I would almost swap to T-5 if it were me and use a 86-93 mustang donor car

Suspension/Steering / quick question on rear swaybar
I just wanted to ask this before i run off tomorrow to tackle this.  would i have much issue installing my rear swaybar with my car on ramps and leave the rear suspension loaded? 
The rear swaybar is from a turbo coupe and its going on my 86 cougar 5.0

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Advice
alright...... for 83-88 tbirds and cougars.  all were Standard Output 302's which were 150 hp.  in 86 they switched from CFI to SEFI with roller blocks.  they used a speed density set up.  as far has any having factory true duals i couldnt tell you for sure.  I would suggest looking at wether you want A. 83-86 (4 eyed) or 87-88 thunderbird (aero) i think you are better off going with a 5.0 car and swapping a manual transmission in its place.    Just my 2 cents

as far as the rear end should be a rather quick bolt in and go minus e-brake function... for front i dont know for sure.  i would just do the front all in one go.

Engine Tech / Turbo Coupe Blown Headgasket?
you can run compression check on the cyl. that would be my first thing
also check radiator fluid and oil..  if ALL that is fine i would then check turbo for free spinning and make sure all the connections are good and so forth
