Does anybody know the location of the eec power relay on my 86 XR7 originally a 2.3 turbo auto car....I track that down to being bad. The internet has said in the passenger kick panel near the computer, my computer is removed. I didnt see any relays there?
So I'm close to start my cougar with the rebuilt 351w. Sense it megasquirt and a completely new setup. I may have trouble keeping it running for the first time.... How long do I need to keep the engine running to do the initial startup break in with that special oil?
I know one wire is for my oil pressure gauge on my dash....no clue what the other 3 wires are for.....one is by itself and the other two go to a small connector.....maybe AC compressor....but my car hasnt had AC in 11 years so I dont remember.
Also the 86 TC/XR7 engine harness is completely different than the 87/88 TC...just saying...
My 86XR7 is getting closer to completion with the 351 turbo swap. My plates havent been current sense 2010. I did have a Vanity Plate TURBO4D I thought is was excellant with the 2.3T, but almost nobody got it. So I thought about getting some easier.
I'm looking for the fuel lines from the engine to the under the car. I have the lines off the fuel rail. ....so does anybody have that stuff. Maybe the 87-88 stuff will also work. I don't know.
I need to replace my hood on my 86 XR7. Before I modified the intake, I shut the hood which was creased by the throttle body vacuum hose. Anyways
I need silver and the 87-88 TC is cool. But a non TC hood would work if the condition and color is right. If you have one let me know. I will need pictures. please email to turbotrav@hotmail.com
If you live in MI, OH, IN, IL that would be great. I will make a nice road trip out of it.
I have two C4's. I have 1979 from a fairmont rebuilt to 450hp 3 years ago. Worked well behind my 2.3T. I keep the original v8 bellhousing and a 2000 stall 12" rebuilt cheapo torque converter from the 79 C4.
Last year I got a 1978 C4 from a mustang II 302 setup, rebuilt upgraded and with RMVB. This one is supposed to be stronger than my 79 tranny, better parts. With the super small BH, flexplate, spacer and little 9" torque converter. I didn't realize that ford made this super small C4 bell housing. So this has caused me problems.
Anyways I finally got all the different sizes figured out. That 302 BH that I got with my original fairmont tranny is the big 164tooth. So I used that cheap torque convertor, AOD spacer, new 28oz flexplate. Bolted in perfect. With the BH being so wide I could not get the 3.5" downpipe past....grrrh.
So sense this is a performance car I figured I need a quality turbo torque converter anyways. I stopped last fall to pickup this spring. Anyways I need 302/351 28oz flexplate, and proper bellhousing. It looks like any of the 70's mustangs one should work. I need the 157 tooth design. So guys....are I missing anything. P.S. I already have the 157 tooth spacer.
