i have the motor out of my 86 and one out of an 88. im going to use the wc 5speed w/ my cable bellhousing. what motor should i use? whatever one i use will be rebuilt i was just wondering if one is beter than the next? i understand that the la3 (i think) computer from the newer one is better along with the VAM? if i swap the entire computer will i run into trouble with any of the wiring or sensors? what about alternator? anything else i should be thinking about?
it is a 200k plus mileage car (black). i bought it for the eng/trans/rear end. has nice: tail lights rear bumper cover driver side fender 1/4 glass turbo hood deck lid 4 snowfake wheels with tires (some pitted surface face from salt im assuming) ill have a non wc t-5 driveshaft bellhousing for a hydro clutch car
im looking at an 88 parts car and was wondering what parts are beter than mine. i know i want the rear end would the 5 speed swap right over if i put the cable bellhousing on it? is the computer beter? upper lower intake?
give me some ideas on what is beter and what will swap over. thanks dan
heres my first post even though its been going on for awile. i have been doing some rust removal and primer for a bit. here you go though. heres the oldest pic of the car i have.
when the car is running the battery is getting charged and it can run all day. if i shut the car off and disconnect the battery i can reconnect then start again. if i let the car sit for say 5-10 mins with the battery connected it will be completely dead when i go to start it again. any thoughts guys?
the car sits lower than it should and the stock tire size tires rub on the front fender when i turn is this from: old spring? bad shocks?
the springs look stock and they dont look cut or anything the shocks feel bounce and look like the originals i just dont know it that would make the car sit lower than it should. thanks dan
got it out and took it for a drive today. it ran good with the new alternator and battery. also got our boat out as you can see in one of the pics. one picture shows how much or the rear quarter pannel i cut out and hope to patch soon, and dont worry i keep it inside. tune up kit is on the way then hopefully i can get out the welder and patch this thing up.

my car has a radio but i need a antenna wire from the back of the radio all the way out to the tip of the antenna with the hardware to mount it to the fenders. if nobody has one what kind of car could i steal one from? its an 86 btw. if someone is parting out a car i could REALY use one thanks dan
the wiring for my alternator popped the fuses and is shot i also would like to replace the battery cables, pretty much anything that has to do with alt and battery wiring. the more the better. please let me know what you got so i can get the tc back on the road. thanks, dan
the alternator and battery checked out good when i went to jump the car one time the wiring comming off the alternator popped open and started smoking. i can get the car to start and run but whan the jumper cables are taken off the car dies shortly after when it looses the charge. is there a way to rewire or hardwire the alternator in so i can get a charge. i know there are more than 2 posts on the back of the alternator i was wondering if some other posts can be used instead? im no electrical expert at all and was just wondering you guys input. thanks, dan
the car is partly disassembled because i was going to restore it and paint it. The interior is mostly there and i do have all the parts for it i believe. the 88 hood is primed and there is a 3x4 inch section cut out of the rear quarters because of small rust holes there are 4 holes drilled in the trunk lid because there was some sort of body kit on it removed but i do have. have all the moldings but they arent on the car. the car is very solid for its age and the rear quarters are the only thing that need attention has cai, gills boost valve, stinger downpipe and midpipe just installed, aftermarket head unit, 88 hood, 4 88 wheels and 4 86 wheels both with tires on them. ill get pics up soon i have over 2500 into the car with the parts i bought id like to get $850 if i dont part it out my name is dan and im located in waterford wi 53105. 262 9303090 and croga001@rangers.uwp.edu are ways to reach me if you have questions ill also be checking here.
my 86 turbo coupe wont hold a charge, i can jup it and drive it but as soon as it dies it wont start agian. the wires that go to my alternator are spliced in, the are both hooked up to a goldish colored module on my driver side inner fender the colors are red/black and yellow it looks like. Also my batter cables arent stock becuase the red cable is hooked up to the negative side and runs down to a ground on the block. the positive cable is blue and goes to the small black module on the inner fender. Can someone tell me where these wires are supposed to be going?
