T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 88 tc
Up for sale is my 88 TC.  It is a mostly original 88 TC with 144k on the clock.  Mileage changes daily as I drive it around where I need to go.    Blue interior complete and still intact including factory radio.  AC blows cold.  New tires with less than 5k on them.    Oil has been changed at 3k intervals.  Brand new dual exhaust this spring.  3" downpipe no cat splits into duals out the back with dual thrust lers.  I've added the headlamp relay setup, a gilly valve for the turbo adjusted to 18.  I am getting roughly 25 mpg with this car and will take it anywhere.  This is not a perfect car but a very good reliable survivor car.    Best of my knowledge it was a southern car brought north by previous owner who never drove it in snow and I have stored it all winters since purchase 3 years ago.  $3000  Pics can be sent upon request.  I hoped a video would be more revealing.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Full seat belts needed
Anybody have a pair of good not stained red front seat belts.  I'm talking the full belt assembly with retractor and pillar mount.  Not sure how but the ones in the car I just purchased look like someone got hungry and chewed on them for a while.  They won't retract because of the frayed edges on the belts.  Both sides are that way.    Really looks tacky.

If none for sale, has anyone tried mustang replacements?  I found these on LMR, but they just don't look right.  I know the plastic covers worked for me but not sure on the belt assembly itself.  https://lmr.com/item/LRS-61109BP/1987-89-Mustang-Front-Scarlet-Red-Seatbelt-Set

Thoughts please.

User Rides / A beautiful collection of Birds
As many have seen I have posted several times about my "Thunderbird addiction" as my wife puts it.  Well a few weeks back, I added a fourth one to my garage and then this weekend, my son added another one to his collection.    I now have now owned 7 Birds 4 of which are presently in my garage.  My son has now owned 4 and has 2 now once again in his garage.  I just picked up from the second owner a very clean 87 TC 5 spd fully loaded with about 44k on the clock.  He just purchased an 88 Sport with a 5.0 with 99k on the clock.  Both are rust free cars.  I will be sharing pics of my car and will get pics of his to share as well.    But for starters, I wanted to share these first.  We had some fun yesterday playing around with the cars here at home.    I am starting to believe that this truly IS a sickness.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Looking for a working Power Antennae for an 87 or 88 TC.
Hey all, I am looking for a working power antennae unit specifically for an 87 TC, but I am thinking that this unit was not exclusive to just the Thunderbird/Cougar of those years.  I just don't know what years or what makes will cross reference with mine.    I haven't had the time yet to determine if it is just the tooth cable and mast or if the entire unit needs to be replaced.  I just can't get time from work long enough to devote time to the project.    Would really like to have the parts on hand when I do tear it apart so I can put it back together at the same time.  I have found several on Ebay that say "will fit Thunderbird" but none that are specific.  Found several for the LTD/Taurus, and many for the 89 and newer cars.

Thanks

Lounge / Winter Blues already
Well, I am officially all bummed out now!    I had to put the birds in storage this morning.  I really hate the fact that I have to do that.  I envy you guys sooooo much that get to keep yours in the driveway all year round.  I love my cars and love driving them.  But living in the middle of the rust belt like I do I'm afraid I have to do that.  I hate rust more than I hate being without them for a few months a year.  What makes it worse is they are stored off property so I can't even sneak a peak now and again at them.  Is it April yet????

Electrical Tech / Auto climate control Problems
I have looked, and if I missed it, I apologize ahead of time.  My auto climate control, although all buttons still work and the temp digits still work I am now having this problem where the Auto setting never seems to quit blowing air.  It won't auto reduce fan speed no matter what climate I set it at.    Is this an issue with the unit itself or is there a sensor somewhere in the car that detects the temp for it?

Thank you for the help.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Need a center counsel storage bin
Anyone have a center counsel storage bin that still has the tabs in place for the light switch.    Tried changing my bulb tonight and much to my unhappiness the plunger switch snapped off.  The plastic is completely broken off.  Might have been broken before hand don't know.  But I was not very happy.  I've changed that bulb before and know to be careful so I don't know what happened, but either way, I'd like to fix it.  So please, if you have one with all the plastic intact and will part with it please let me know.    Pics below.

User Rides / My new 4 eye Turbo
I've had the itch for another fox body now for almost 6 mos.    I don't need one, but I do so love these cars.    One night, during one of my usual time wasting web cruise's, it all paid off when I found this car.    My wife and I drove 250 miles to go look at it.  I immediately knew it was meant to be.  It truly spoke to me like no other and I've looked at quite a few.  I wanted it.  Wife wasn't totally convinced but I was.  I am the second owner now of this beauty.  As I understand the story, the original owner of the car had stopped driving it as a regular driver, but even then not so regular, sometime in the early 90's.  Used it only for weekend fun so to speak until 2003 or 4 I believe, then it became a garage queen only being driven to go back and forth between the home garage and the winter storage garage till this morning when I loaded it up on my trailer.  Literally everything works except the AC, a relative easy fix, and the drivers window which is trying to work just won't go down all the way.  It seems to get stuck going down then needs help going up.  Both will be an easy fix.  It has never in its life seen a snow flake, that he could remember, and never will.  I hope you enjoy the pics.  Everything you see with exception of the custom pin striping is as it was when he drove it off the lot.  I am truly excited about this one.  I smell a few car shows in my future.  Thanks for looking

Electrical Tech / Cruise Control Issues
My 88 has a cruise control issue.  First it stopped working so I bought a replacement servo from 50racer and got it installed.    Cruise worked just fine.  My wife takes the car and tells me the cruise doesn't work.  I drive the car a short while later and the cruise works.  Now I'm confused and she feels stupid.  I don't like that but I had no explanation for her.    She again drives the car and this time swears that she's not crazy but she couldn't get the cruise to work.  Now again, I repeat the process and the cruise works.  Now this time, I don't want to make her feel bad again so I started thinking.  She drives in a different position than I do and she adjusts the tilt column differently than I do.  I have it all the way down, she does not.  She has it in the middle sort of standard position.  Sure enough, the cruise doesn't work.    I tried all notches of the tilt and the cruise only works in the bottom two notches of the tilt.  Now I looked at a spare steering column that I have and the tilt assembly looks to be just a series of springs.  The wheel has what looks like a wire plug for it.  I didn't disassemble the column but it looks like the tilt shouldn't have any affect on the ability of the cruise to work or not.    I plan to pull the column cover and just look at things to make sure a wire isn't getting pinched somehow but I don't see how it could by looking at the spare.  Does anyone have any ideas?    All thoughts welcome.
