yes,, what you are looking for is a bracket that is found normally on a CFI application.  The Throttle / TV orientation is on the driver side of the CFI, perfect for your appication.  It is a bracket that mounts to the drivers side rear intake.

I couldnt find a decent shot of it but someone here has a CFI without aircleaner installed pic im sure.  Typically this bracket only holds the cruise / throttle be can be adapted for a TV cable as well.  Once you lay it out, your going to need to hook the cable end directly to the lower part of one of your Carb linkages, not upper.  This will get you moving the cable in the correct direction (pulling) while push on the gas pedal.  From here, you can figure it out.  Typically there is a set screw fine tune up at the CFI / Carb as well as a fine tune at the trans linkage.  Again, this is stuff you can figure out when you get to it.

the biggest part is finding a bracket.

if you want to use the braket AND ROD(like your photo) is also on the 82/83/84 crownvic, that had the AOD with the motorcraft 2V carbs.
also check 81/82 cougar/t-bird with the 255V-8 and AOD. thats what casper has  and i'm switch over to 306 roller and motorcraft 4V.
i use the same system when i installed a 1970 351W 4V engine into a 1985 mustangGT with factory AOD. that was 8 YEARS AGO for friend. he still daily driving that same car.

if you want to know more about that system .pick up a ford factory shop manual.  not one of those aftermarket book. the factory manual  tell you how to adjust the rod system. you can find one on ebay cheep.
remember it easier to fix them, than to find them after they been crushed.
