General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Cars you miss
First car...1984 T Type. HATED the wheels. Wrecked it and busted one of the factory wheels, so my old man took me to his friends shop, said I could have whatever he had. I was pissed he couldnt get my first thirteen choices, so they pushed me to get these because in their eyes, they were similar to the wheels I wanted. Man, they were horrid.

Saw this on the road yesterday, and almost caused a wreck getting over to check it out. Another 84, and it hadnt been converted. Im not messing with another Hot Air car. Clean though. 86/87 gn interior, wanted 7500.

Id be very interested in this if it was anywhere close to TX.

You need more pics, of course. Take the bra off, everyone assumes its real bad underneath if you leave it on like that.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 87 TBird Roller-TX
Looks like its going to sell Thursday. Guy from a local Mustang board that seems pretty cool is picking it up. He's pretty legit, and said hes going sbf/turbo/4r70w with it. He is pretty active, and always building something. Im glad its going to someone who is going to use it, and not part it. I just think the puppiesan registration is too cool to part this thing out.

Engine Tech / Exhaust upgrade?
Id buy any Mustang shorty header you can find, plenty of used ones out there when guys go long tube. Id rather have a used BBK than new chinese ebay, etc. Probably no more than $100.

Any fox stang H/X, same thing on used, I bought a new looking bassani x for $100.

I used a GT fox Ultra Flo cat back. Snagged junkyard hangers to go dual. Exhaust shop hung the cat back for me with some universal hangers on the tailpipes.

Good Lord this is painful to type. I bought this car a few years ago from a guy in San Antonio that was in the miltary. Dude bought it in puppiesan, and somehow brought it back. I cant imagine it was worth shipping, but whatever. I think its kind of neat with the puppiesanese inspection stickers on it, etc.

Swapped it to HO specs, repinned the harness for a Mustang ecm, swapped in a mild 306, and had a buddy build a killer AOD. SN95 front end swap, and rear. Same friedn who did the aod also redid the rear with a 31 spline TLok, Superior axles, and 4.10's. Fox Cobra booster, MC, 3-2 port from MM.  New cheap 245/45's all around. Ultra Flo cat back I think. Had the windows retinted as well.

Sold the engine and trans right before my son was born 16 mos ago, and have barely breathed on it since. It  me off to no end, but I simply dont see how Ill get time for this again.

Various fox tbird parts come with it. I used to browse yards and snag anything of use. I put in "Raven" seats out of a Turbo Coupe. Originally black, but they all faded years ago, and now it looks right with the rest of the blue interior. Tossed in a center console real quick, doesnt quite line up perfect just yet. I do have several cans of correct interior dye for the armrest, center console, and any other trim to be replaced.

***
Just remembered, when I did the rear, I replaced all bushings with poly, other than the body side uppers, kept those rubber. All new brake hoses, etc.

Sitting in Pearland, just south of Houston. $1200 or Ill just keep staring at it.

Email me at mgclark at larkheat.com

How it sits now:

Original armrest crumbled, never painted this one.

Stuffed full, dont remember why I chose one consiole over the other, but there is an extra.

Clean and straight under the hood.

I have the kick panel, didnt replace after I pulled the computer for the guy who bought the drivetrain. He was swapping to a 68 mustang, and took the a9l, and an extra harness I had.

Various interior trim, sn95 fan, etc

Love that shotty! Does the chainsaw grip move with the pump?
I'd like to snag a newer autoloader 12GA, but right now I need to find a good tac light for my "Q40" (Walther PPQ, in .40S&W)

Yes, thats how you supposedly rack the slide. Its a terrible idea. Ill eventually just take it off. Sounds cool, but holding it and racking the slide is awkward at best.

Since the last time I posted, I won a ridiculous mossberg "chainsaw" shotgun. It was a raffle item at a Friends of the NRA dinner. Pretty funny deal, pistol grip, and has a funny top end grip like a chainsaw so you hold it shooting from the hip. So dumb. But it has a nasty flash hider/door breacher on the end of the barrel. I'd hate to get bashed in the head with it.

Also, I had a Century built CZ VZ58 which is similar to an AK47. It was an old surplus rifle I bought for $350. Some guy in all this madness really wanted a 7.62 rifle, so I traded him my VZ58 for his NIB Core15 AR. $350 surplus rifle traded straight up for a $1200 rifle that is sold out everywhere. Sounds like a good trade to me.

Bought a Glock 19 that a dealer was clearing out $478 shipped for a 19 is a pretty good deal.

Also bought a Ruger 1911. I just like the look of stainless gun. Think it was $600 or so.

Ive got plenty of ammo stacked up, and Im getting a big kick out of people waiting in line at sporting good stores every morning at opening time dying to score 50 or 100 rounds.

Yeah, but it looks like they finished that about as well as they finished everything on that car. Which is to say, terribly.

Nah, not really, Victoria is probably a couple hours southwest along the coast. My Inlaws have a condo down past in Port Aransas, and Victoria is about the halfway point. We never stop there though. There is a Buc-ees about an hour north of Victoria that you have to stop at when traveling 59. You guys would probably die laughing at that. Its a huge gas station that has fudge, dozens of types of beef jerky, all kinds of gifts. They were voted something like the clenest bathrooms in the country or something.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Random update
I havent posted here in a long time. I have a 14 month old son. Once he hit the ground, my car time just kind of dried up. Moved from north of Houston(Cypress), to south of Houston(Pearland) to be closer to our in laws who can help us much more than my parents.

We got a contract on the Cypress house, so I made the last trip to get my car stuff out of the garage. Of course I ASSuMEd the keys would be in it since there is no engine/tranny. No such luck. Took the shaft off the rack, and pulled it on the trailer with a come-along. So much fun.

Hopefully I can get some time and get this thing a new engine sometime soon.

Lounge / Garage Floor Epoxy
I used quikrete epoxy kits from Lowes, three at $74 each. Four would have covered much better. The quikrete clear was 100$ per kit, so I bought two gallons of h&c shield Crete acrylic clear from Sherwin Williams. They were $69 per gallon, but I use a painter's account number, and paid $49 each. I used one pouch of anti skid per gallon. I haven't wetted it to test it but it doesn't seem coarse enough.  Fyi, the h&c is made to be an epoxy top coat on top of an h&c two part water based epoxy that I compared msds to the quikrete.

I was just so ready to be done, and was scared of throwing good money after bad after the epoxy was down.

If I do it again, I would 100% rent a grinder, then just clear the bare concrete.
