Found it on craigslist for 5 grand and couldn't pass it up! Ended up paying $4700. The body is absolutely perfect with no rust or cracks at the usual places or anywhere else for that matter. Needs the front and rear Valences, but those are pretty inexpensive to replace. The only thing wrong with the interior is the leather is a little worn. Has a freshly rebuilt 289, with a C6. The VIN is a J-Code 302. Since J-Code 302s are pretty expensive, I think I will just keep the 289. Runs great!
Work I will be doing / having done in the future.
-Doing a disk brake conversion in the rear and a full suspension upgrade. -The wiring needs to be organized to say the least, but everything is there. -I will be replacing the vacuum operated flip open headlights with an electric unit. -Putting a retro looking radio with modern inputs USB/AUX etc..
Pretty bad fire right outside Colorado Springs. Only 5% contained. It's been 100 degrees the past 4 days, and it's may hit 107 today with winds at 20mph. Not good news at all.

I have been looking for one of these for at least 7 months. All I was finding were automatics or wagons. When I found this one, I had to get it.
The bulb burnt out behind the cluster and the stock ler was rusted so I made a few quick mods. They are temporary. I am going to put that ler in a better position and replace to bulb soon.
The pan that feeds the fuel pump broke off the brackets and was moving around inside the tank. This caused the strainer to tear and let a bunch of dirt in my walbro.
My solution was to replace it with my other bird's tank. When I took it off I noticed one of the brackets was broken and it wiggled a bit too. I fully cleaned the tank and sealed it back with some liquid steel. (resistant to gas)
I just wanted to let everyone know it might be time to get a new tank. Seems like this is a common problem.
Whenever I am going through the gears and hit second at the top of second gear about high 5000s it overidles and hits off the rev limiter a couple times.
I know this is a limited market, but I am going to start fabricating custom front splitters and rear diffusers for mainly Turbo Coupes, but I could probably adapt them for Cougars too.
I am working on prototypes right now and will probably be finished in a few weeks.
These will be fully functional for my hillclimb car. The front splitter will give downforce and force air into any front mount.
I am also getting sick of looking at my ghetto ram / cool air valve cover hood scoop and am going to start making kits that exit out of the passenger inner amber light. (Yes this requires removing the light)
I've noticed that sometimes when I am going hard through the gears the boost in second gear goes to 18psi and then dips to about 15. Every other gear holds at 18. 91 octane with stock TC intercooler, 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch magnaflow race series ler. Same thing happened with the stock exhaust though.
