Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #8 – June 01, 2010, 08:55:37 PM I won't be making to the show at the fairgrounds (kids have a youth field day event happening on Saturday). This will be the first time over the last 6-7 years that I won't make it to see all you guys.I'll be running the staging lanes at Quarter Aces Dragway on Friday for those coming to the strip. If you come by, come find me in the staging lanes. I won't be able to talk long because we have a 9pm curfew because of some agreement the previous owner had with the neighbors. Quote Selected

I may run Friday if I can find the time. If it takes an agreement to keep the track then so be it. Better than the locals signing a petition and it disappearing. They pave the return road yet? I'm not receiving any notification we someone posts. I'll have to check into my settings. We are only running Friday unless we rain out, then we run on Saturday at the same time schedule. We normally run Sundays except for when the Ford, GM, & Chrysler shows are in. We run Fridays for those shows. The return road from the track to the bridge to get to the staging lanes is blacktop. There still is a lot of stone in the pits. We aren't getting near the amount of stones brought to the starting line as we did last year. We had to do some repairs (around the tech building) earlier this year due to a flood. With the economy not being so great, we aren't doing any big projects. The neighbors are always going to be a pain. I believe every track (regardless of what type) has issues with the neighbors. I was on 641 headed towards my hotel and had to go under an overpass where the roadway was covered by almost a foot of water......It made for LOTS of cleaning. Then this morning with the heavy winds and the tornado advisory for PA, NJ, NY, and parts of Maryland and Delaware as well......We had planned on staying until about 6 PM so as to not have to deal with the traffic through Staten Island & Brooklyn, but when the wind got bad we decided to beat the storm out. Luckily we did. Quote Selected
