I worked on a Titanium Frost bird in late 1988. I was a painter in the body shop of the local Ford dealer at the time. I think I painted a trunk lid spoiler and fixed a couple dents from a transportation claim.Thought the color was kinda different but it matched pretty good. Saw the sticker for Mach 1 but really did not know how this car was different. It was owned by a Police Officer and had a plate that read "9MM NUT"
I worked in the body shop of the local Ford dealer from 1987-1990. In that period of time we had 5-6 kids that came in with their crashed 5.0 Mustangs on a tow truck. The body shop manager would estimate the value of what was left and they would use it as a down payment on usually a truck or a Bronco. One of the parents would run a check over, and just a few hours after the accident they would be driving off in another new car that daddy thought was "Safer". It was pretty funny seeing this happen time after time. I wonder how many made it to the ripe old age of 30.
