Front bumper reinforcement ???

Does anyone know if any other cars used the same front bumper reinforcement as a 83-86 thunderbird/cougar?  I have been searching for some time now and have come up empty handed.  I never thought this part would be the hard one to find.  :toilet:

Your saying the bumper supports that bolt to the core support, or what?

Yea the inner metal bumper is what im looking for i have the cover.  I was also thinking that the 87 might he a good bet but i would have to make a spot for the turn signals

The Inner Reinforcement bumper on my '88 is all Fiberglass. The one on your '84 is Metal?

They're metal up to 86
I would just make one...its pretty much just a metal "U"

A puff of smoke a few sparks a whiff of ozone and presto a new support.

You can use an exhaust pipe and make brackets to facilitate you needs for this simple part. It is not that difficult. just some fabing. If you have a TIG you can make it out of alluminum.

Yeah I bet that was a bit of work, I like it alot though.  I have the ability to fab something up that would work but I would like to have a factory peice.  Does anyone know if the 87 piece is similar enough to use as far as dimentions, and would it be possible to notch areas for the turn signals?  I dont have a lot of time to work on the car now so Id like something to just bolt on and go.

The '87-88 pieces are fiberglass and are not the right shape at all.

last I was at cherry picked in toledo, oh, they had an 86 tbird in there, but it doesn't help you a whole lot.

yeah the only car in the yard close to me is an 87 cougar but that doesnt help me either.  Someday ill find someone close to me parting one out.
