Lounge / Dyno Day is finally here....
Saturday morning, the Sport gets strapped down for a few dyno pulls. I have NO idea what the power will be. SO, I'll post the results when I get home. I've been waiting for quite a while. It's at the local tech school, and the instructor is a high school friend of mine. It's good to know people.

Lounge / The Sport was in a magazine....
The Sport was one of the featured reader's ride cars in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine. Not a huge deal, but still pretty sweet.

Engine Tech / Dyno Day coming up next Saturday...
I'm taking the Sport to Dyno Day next Saturday the 21st.

What all can I do to optimize what I have by then?

Timing is at 16 degrees, and the car seems to run best there. I'll have to adjust the clutch cable a little bit. Check the spark plugs as well. Theyt should be fine. Fuel pressure is right at 39 to 40 psi.

The rockers are adjusted one full turn (Scorpion 1.6 stud mount rockers). Should I only go half turn, or is it fine where it's at?

Lounge / Thanks a lot you guys.....
I was outside this past weekend at a car show in Texas, checking out my car (I like it more than the other cars there), and got to thinking about how far it has come over the years. No, it's really not a show car, but has brought a home a few awards (3 of them). Not bad for a daily driver that never sees a garage. ANyway, I was thinking about all the parts I bought, sold and traded here on the forum to get the car where it is, ALL of the tech advice from fellow members, my first H.O upgrade with Tom on the phone walking me through it, then Kitz literally bullying me over the phone into the Mass Air upgrade, bigger cam, and the hot rod parts I was questionable about installing. Glad I listened to them. I was extremely limited on knowledge on a LOT of things when I joined here a decade or so ago. Through the years, this has remained the best forum I could be a part of, and with the best people. Looking forward to the next ten years........Thanks again guys.

User Rides / A couple of pics of the Sport's engine compartment.....
I just finished the GT-40 intake plate. Fabbed and polished and installed. The strut tower brace is something I've had for years, it had about 6 coats of paint on it. I stripped it down to bare metal, sanded it with 220, then sprayed on some clear engine enamel. Looks awesome. One step at a time, and with the car budget being slightly below zero dollars, I'm doing what I can with what I have. I have more cleaning to do, and may tuck a few wires on the driver side in the inner fender to clean up the bay a bit more. Nothing crazy, just doing a little here and there when I can. I still have some more polishing on the intake and intake plate to do, and eventually paint the recessed finned areas on the intake. One step at a time.

Lounge / Finally, an easy weekend......
Seems like for the last couple of years, I have spent time under the hood searching for an answer to a miss in the idle, or lack of power, or a smoking engine, or some other issue. I'm finally at a point I cna relax and do simple things like clean on the car, move a couple of wires, Just "want to do it" stuff, not "HAVE to do it". I will admit, after spending so long on the "Have to do it" stuff, I feel like it has become a habit, a regular task, and it is actually kind of hard to teach myself that I can relax for a while. I'm going to lift the front of the car today and install my chin spoiler, then watch TV the rest of the day. I need to do a few small things. I'm afraid if I quit cold turkey, I may have withdrawals. LOL. I am enjoying the car more than I have in a long time.
