Fox Tbird FASTEST pump gas car in America

(didn't mean to put this in the Lounge)

"Congratulations to #3 qualifier Jim Plimpton of Franksville, Wisconsin. Despite stratospheric engine temps on the driving portion of the 5th annual HOT ROD Pump Gas Drags, Plimpton took the win with a 8.536-second e.t. at 163.06 mph in his ProCharger supercharged, 572ci Ford-powered '89 Thunderbird."

1989 Thunderbird :punchballs: I think the article in the magazine states it ran in the mid-170s, not 163.

Yah, there's no way an 89 would run 8.5 without being gutted and backhalved. :giggle:
