http://www.dragzine.com/news/23-year-old-racer-killed-in-overnight-crash-at-texas-strip/ I did not know Blake, but I know he was a member on Facebook on different pages. I thought I would share here, I know several facebook pages had people share pictures of there thunderbirds to show there respects for Blake. I am not sure if he was a member on here or not.
My name is Jerry Jones I am in Pensacola, FL, 32533. My dad and I picked up this car to get some parts off of for our thunderbirds. It is a six cylinder car, no transmission. The driver side fender is damaged and driver door is damaged, where they have been opening and closing. Bottom of the doors have rusted out spots in them and around the rear window, and around the trunk lid has some cancer, not much on trunk lid. Dash is cracked on top, speedo cluster is messing, clock is gone, no door panels. Front seats just need cleaning, rear bottom seat has two small burn holes, but look good. It is a red interior car. Please contact me at 850-393-4304 for more pics or to figure out pricing.
I picked up some Dodge SRT-4 caliber seats form local CL ad. We took off the factory brackets and made some to fit the T-bird seats sliders so I could use the factory t-bird mounting spots.
My son and I went on the first big drive in the T-bird on Friday night. We went with the local Pensacola Cars and Coffee group. We went around trip of about 80 miles, some interstate driving and back two lane roads. Saturday morning I went out to check things out, looking for leaks etc...
I noticed some oil on the ground below the gas tank. I check the brake lines, looked good, then I touch it and smelled it. Gear oil from the vent on the 9 inch rear end. Any suggestion why this would happen? My vent tube is only 1/2 inch long, I have noticed before on trucks that the vent has a long hose on it. Going to drain gear oil and change to see if any moisture was in the housing.
