Throw some stock Fox Mustang headers on it, a Fox Mustang H Pipe, then have the rest added at the ler shop. The H-Pipe and headers are a simple bolt on, but the mid pipes and tail pipes are different from a Mustang.

It bears mentioning that the HO headers and H-Pipe setup will require HO oxygen sensors, or 8 inch(?) extensions; as in that setup, the O2s are in the H-Pipe and not the manifolds/headers.

You can also lengthen the car's oxygen sensor harness (that's what I did). Be sure to solder the wires and not use a crimp connector.

DO NOT lengthen the oxygen sensor wires themselves. You'll ruin the oxygen sensor that way.

the o2 sensors need 600+ degrees to start making thier own millivolt signal,, how can they do that if they are so far down stream
?

is it really that hot on the hpipe?

Late 86 on the o2 sensors are heated. The 4.6 mustangs have six catalytic converters and pre and post o2 sensors, the post o2's are near the end of the h-pipe.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
