Finally I'm not embarrassed as much to show off my $500 ride!

Ok, here's the story:  Bought (stole:giggle: ) the '88 off a friend of mine for $500.  80K miles, needs a little.  Fixed power locks and the keyless door.  Bought centerlines off of ebay with tires for $200, picked 'em up in Ohio.  H.O. intake with throttle body etc. off ebay, invested a total of $80 plus gaskets.  Forgot to put on intake hose when starting the car, sucked neighbors cat into intake.  I also bought eibach (1"-2"drop) springs that this forum lead me to on ebay.  I can't believe no one else bid on them... Brand new and shipped to my door for $60.  8.8 rear end for $20, thanks again guys! (http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=8670) then a set of 5.0 E6 (I know...) heads off the same guy for $40.  Hopefully the body gets done this weekend.  Let me know what you think! BTW, I am looking for a set of 3.73's for the rear end!  I am hoping to get up to Beaver Run Raceway for some autocross in September... Anyone up for it?

Archive & Library (Read Only) / 7.5 vs 8.8
Ok after reading the 8.8 issues or non-issues for people, I was wondering what all the advantages are of the 8.8.  Yeah it's bigger and has a locker???  But how about if I want to take my "one wheel wonder" and turn it into a posi?  With my absolute lack of knowledge of cars (please ask bike questions) I wonder if a posi out of a 7.5 ranger or bronco II will work in my '88 5.0 T-Bird... I think both units are 28 spline.  I plan on autocrossing this puppy... and be able to drive it home!
