Title: Rear shock adapter brackets
Post by: Chuck W on March 14, 2007, 10:37:15 PM
OK folks,

Due to the "interest", I'm going to do a small run of 10 sets of the rear shock brackets.

There are a couple installed pics HERE (http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=9022&page=10), but this batch will be slightly different, but still function the same.

They will be $30/shipped in the US.

To order a set send me an email at cwarren@indy.net.  Posting in this thread that you want a set does not constitute placing an order.  Please be sure to include your shipping info in the email.

Payments aren't needed yet and I will contact folks about payment when I have a better ETA on the parts.

Thanks,
Chuck

Well I stopped by the laser-cutter for some other stuff today and I will have lasered parts early next week, so the turn around this time was pretty fast.

6 sets still available.

I have not seen this asked before, will they still be required on an 8.8 from a Mustang swapped into an 85?
Title: Rear shock adapter brackets
Post by: Chuck W on November 29, 2007, 09:49:33 AM
They are used when you are trying to use any Mustang shocks (which are shorter) on a Tbird/Cougar.  The axle makes no difference, it depends on what shocks you are wanting to use.

Changed my mind Chuck, I will take a set but it needs to wait till this friday 12/7 as I have too much $ going out already this week.

Those Stang springs are just too low, I got stuck on a branch in the road yesterday, (about 3"-4" diameter and 1 foot long) and drug it about 50ft down the road, so I'm going to go back to the bird springs.

yea, yea.. you told me so! :flip:

I currently have a Mustang 7.5 under my project TC, and I'm considering using it until I get a better one built.  I also plan on using 94-04 mustang lowering springs in the rear, Probably bite the bullet on CHE's or something similar.  Would I still benefit using your shock adapters?  Would the lowering of the rear eliminate the need?
Title: Rear shock adapter brackets
Post by: Chuck W on December 07, 2007, 08:22:27 PM
Unless you plan on lowering the car 3", the Mustang shocks are going to be too short.

Title: Rear shock adapter brackets
Post by: Chuck W on May 14, 2008, 07:21:54 PM
How will they help?

They will just allow you to make use of more readily-available "performance" Mustang rear shocks as opposed to the non-existent ones for Tbirds.

Looks like I'm going to need to order more parts and make some more of these.

I'll try and get my order off to my laser guy on Mon.  I'm just busy as hell right now... I need to clone myself. :hick:

Watch this space for more details when I'll be closer to having them available.

OK, I will be sending 15 sets of these to the powdercoaters in the morning.

I will try and get back in touch with you if you had contacted me about them previously, but it may be best to just email me to confirm/place your order.

$47/shipped in the US.

I'm going to be welding up a handful of sets of these in the near future.  I know there has been some interest, but I'm not going to make a truckload of them, only to sit on them for 3+ years.

This current bunch will be still be $47/shipped in the US.

So these are for installing Fox Mustang coilovers? I bought a set of your motor mounts a few years back when I installed a 5.0 into a 1994 S/C, they were awesome. I still have them but got rid of everything else. Anyways if that's what these are for I want a set for my 85 if you will still ship to Canada. Oh and I have no problem prepaying, I know the quality of your work and that your a stand up guy.

Primarily these are for using the shorter Mustang shocks on the rear of the TBirds/Cougars. They would work for coil-overs as well, however.

OK, I'll be working on getting these things welded up this coming weekend. Only have 5 sets, and I think that's how many people have spoken up.  Shoot me an email (cwarren@indy.net)...no PM's pls, if you want to confirm your interest. Going to try and get things to the powdercoater before the coming holiday.

Hi Chuck
i have a question, as lowered as your car is and with these brackets is it ok to run sn95 shocks or its better with fox units
thats the kind of stance im looking for so i was just wondering if sn95 shocks would have too much travel(if thats any bad) with a stance like yours plus the brackets  also you confirm its ready to go with coilovers?

thanx Chuck

Good question. I have SN-95 springs out back as well.

SN-95 and Fox rear shocks are pretty much the same in regards to length/travel. Pick one, it doesn't matter.
They're fine to use with coil-overs as well.

I've got the parts on hand, but I won't be messing with anything until Sunday at the earliest. After work today I'm heading out of town and tomorrow will be spent on a 160+ mile bike ride and then getting home.

I have 4 people who have appropriately responded and are waiting on invoices or shipping quotes (to Canada). I'll look into those details at some point on Sunday for you guys.

Thanks
Chuck
