I don't get on here too often anymore, mainly since I sold the cat and have playing with another kitty for a few years. I just did a little spring cleaning, and I thought you guys might like to see my replacement kitty. It's a 2000 Jaguar XK8 with a few subtle mods.
Well I was feeling a little bit nostalgic today after I was driving around and saw my old Cougar so I looked up an old video I took. I realized I never actually posted it here, so I thought I would, in case someone was interested in a similar exhaust setup. It may be a bit redneck for some but I liked it.
This is an in car video, light acceleration then roll on the throttle. The camera work, quite frankly, is atrocious, but its one of the few videos I have of her.
The Car: 87 Cougar 5.0 V8 stock Mustang headers full custom mandrel bent 2.25" exhaust with no crossover glass packed lers no catalytic converters side exit (in front of rear tires)
I thought I'd drop in, say "hi" and see how everyone is doing. I haven't been around for quite a while, mostly since I sold my Cougar last summer. I miss her and wish I hadn't sold her, but lacked the room to keep both her and the Jag. Maybe someday I'll get another, but since she was my first car, she will always have a place in my heart. At least I get to see and drive her every once in a while, but I'm not sure if that makes selling her easier or harder.
So I haven't been on the boards here for a while, but I thought you guys would like to see my new cat...it's a different breed: 2000 Jaguar XK8. I bought it a few weeks ago and it's been fun. Of course the week after I bought it I found out that my department is moving to Chicago and the company is not even giving me the chance to move with it, so I will be out of a job at the end of the month
Anyone know if the front license plate holder from an '87/'88 T-Bird will fit a '87/'88 Cougar or is the bumper different enough? I know the molding is the same profile, but I think the T-bird bumper comes to more of a point. Anyone know for sure?
So I went outside yesterday to drive the Cougar and noticed my license plate frame was broken. Now I wasn't all that happy with the thing and was thinking of removing it, so I wasn't that concerned and figured somebody tapped me lightly when getting out of their parking spot. Upon closer inspection, the license plate holder is broken in two corners and is cracked completely along the top. In addition to this the bumper is scratched up (managed to sand it a bit and touch it up) but the plate holder looks horrible. Whoever hit me must have hit me fairly hard and known that he caused damage, but there was no note or anything. Now it is not like I would have gotton the police or insurance involved with something like this, but it would have been nice to at least get a note about it. I guess a little common courtesy is a bit to much to ask for these days. I'm going to need a new front plate holder, but I'll post about that in the wanted section.
