I tried pen 15er, Universal, and a bunch of others. Yes, they list them on their websites but right at the point you click to purchase it, it says it is back ordered.
I am currently running 220/55 R390 tires on my '83 Heritage on TRX wheels. They need replacement but I can't find them anywhere at any price. Has anyone tried this wheel and tire package from LMR? They look similar to what I have, but less spokes. Will they fit? The guy at LMR said he only knows Mustangs and didn't know if they would fit on a T-bird. Said go to the forums.
I also have an '83. I don't know if it would qualify as simple, due to the EEC-III system. I don't think the EEC-III was used for long, and it is difficult finding information on how it works, even in the shop manual. Some manuals from back then, like the Clymer, don't mention it at all. Only the V6 carbureted engine.
My model is the Heritage and did not have a water temp. gauge. I put one in.
The plastic grommet on the throttle end of my TV cable disintegrated and the cable (actually a solid rod on the '83) came off. Does anyone know where to get a replacement, or even a replacement TV cable if I have to go that route? The hole is oval shaped so I can't just throw any old round grommet in there.
My $.02 based on two experiences of rich running Turbo Coupes: It was the FPL which read fine at idle but was dumping in massive fuel when driving. You would need to tape fuel pressure gauge to the windshield and drive it to check. If you know it is rich at idle, then this is not it as you checked FP.
What tells you it is rich? The smell? Exhaust color?
Also, if O2 sensors detect false air like from an exhaust manifold leak, they will try to enrich the mixture.
Sorry, I meant FPR, fuel pressure regulator, not FPL.

Twins!! Your rocking TRX's like me! No vent windows? What interior color/leather/velour? Gorgeous car btw.....
No, no vent windows. I didn't know any came with vent windows. Interior is dark blue velour. By TRX's, do you mean the wheels?
I'm having a lot of fun driving it but it's off the road until the streets dry out from this recent snow. I had an '88 Turbo Coupe and know these are not the most rust proof cars on the planet.
Hi Mark, welcome the forum! Good to see another 83 Silver Heritage on the board. I am Long Island based, and my 83 is in my driveway with a tarp on it since Hurricane Sandy did its business. Plans are to get her running again and finish restoring her proper as soon as time and funds allow. Any pics of your silver beauty? We loooove pics around here.......
My old 70 Torino ragtop and my 83 Bird were both built there almost 13 years apart to the day.
David,
Not to change the thread, just saying hello, I recently joined and also have an '83 Heritage, 5.0, silver like in your graphic. I'm in north jersey; good to know there are others nearby as I never see them on the road anymore. Mine was original owner, 54,000 miles.
I just got the shop manuals today. The "check engine" light IS for both oil pressure and temperature. The owners manual mentioned only oil pressure. Thanks to all who replied.
