Lounge / Getting out of the desert, back to the midwest!
Vegas is fun to visit but not that great to live in. I will miss the mild winters (going to have to buy winter clothes again!) and the junkyards here have a lot of good rust free Foxes. We are from Kansas so we should be able to go home more often for cheap.
We will be shipping my turbo Cougar for sure, and if we can get a good enough deal, the 85 too. If not, I will probably have to sell it before we go.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Red and tan uncracked seatbelt sleeves, Tripminder, driver's side manual seat track
Red seat belt sleeve set. In good condition with only minor wear. One belt has a small split at the bottom, not visible when installed. $40 shipped
Tan passenger side seat belt sleeve. Same small split at the bottom as the red sleeve, very common and not visible when installed. $25 shipped
Tripminder from 83 Heritage. This unit is in very nice shape. I will take it apart and clean button contacts before selling. The only imperfection I found is the display is a little dimmer than most I have sold. That being the case, I will sell it for $35 shipped AND will make a plug and play harness for most 85-88 cars for those who don't like wiring or don't want to cut up the your factory wiring harness.
Driver's side manual seat track. Great weight reduction mod! $50 shipped.

Lounge / My first trip to Disneyland!
The second day didn't go so well however. We got into the Disneyland park early on Saturday because we stayed at a Disney hotel and the first ride we went on was Space Mountain. No line, sweet! My body hated me for the rest of the day. I tried to ride Star Tours right after that and it took everything I had to not puke (although I did some dry heaving.) I walked back to the hotel and slept it off. After tending to my foot blisters I headed back to the park in shame and only rode slow, gentle kiddie rides for the rest of the day.
Today was just a couple of hours at Newport beach building sand castles before heading home. Overall a great little weekend trip. Oh, and we only used 2 days of our 3 day Disneyland passes so we can go use our last day some other time!

Lounge / AHHHH, Spiders! (Pic inside)
Yesterday I poked my head into the garage every hour or so and managed to kill about 4 females and 6 or 7 males, but it seems like there is still just as many new webs. I did also take the car for a spirited highway drive this morning.

Lounge / So lonely in Vegas! (possible Vegas meet?)
How is it that in a city of 1 million+ there isn't more Fox members!? The only other Fox I ever see is my old blue 84 Cougar that I sold to a guy a few blocks down.
I'm thinking about organizing a semi-large meet here in Vegas. Any interest from the Southwest/West coast (and any other) members? I'm thinking car show, track time, plus whatever else Vegas has to offer. I'm not wanting to compete with Catjam, I would just like to see something a bit more west for the guys out here.
What do you guys think?

Drivetrain Tech / PLEASE tell me there is a tranny fluid that looks like oil...
I'm going to assume assume some jackass put motor oil in the transmission. What do I do? I had the car towed home and have only driven it around the block 1 time, less than a 1/4 mile. Thanks!

Engine Tech / 85 Cougar 5.0 CFI running rough. Suggestions?
I ran the KOEO codes and got trouble codes 23 and 31. According to the fordfuelinjection website, those codes correspond to TPS voltage and EVP voltage.
I checked and had the correct 5 volt signal to the TPS and then check the output voltage and it was 1.93 with the car off and varied between 3v and 5v with it on due to the bad idle.
Next, I checked the EGR. The EGR held vacuum and seemed to operate correctly. The vacuum line to the solenoid was uncracked also. I confirmed 5 volts at the EVP connector and then tested output voltage at at several vacuum readings. At 0" HG I got a reading of 1.89. At 5" I got 3.92, and at 10" I got 3.96. The EVP voltage with the car running remained at 1.89.
I would rather replace parts that don't need to be replaced. Can anybody help interpret these results or suggest what to do next. Thanks!

Lounge / Time for a new daily driver!
I am leaning towards getting a late 80s/early 90s small GM car such as a Cavalier Z24, Beretta Z26, or Lumina Z34. Hopefully something semi-sporty and reliable. I would really like a Z26 with a HO Quad 4, but those are hard to come by and I'm still unsure of how reliable they are. I haven't looked into the Ford side of things yet, but what comparable cars did Ford have to the ones I listed?
Anyway, here are a few parting pics of my truck. People stop by my house and ask if I want to sell it all the time and I just put it on craigslist, so I'm thinking it will sell fairly quick.
