Lounge / DR Who tardis gadget, what the heck is going on here?
Electromagnetic levitation (or suspension from both ends).  Pretty cool little toy.  The geek in me really likes this one...  I don't know if there's enough power generation for time travel, though.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / A new one in the garage
pic in link says "84".  I have always liked those.  I came really close to buying an 86, then an 85 1/2 several years ago, but each of them were too much of a project or were beat nearly to death.  I ended up buying an 88 TC instead.

User Rides / my new red '87 turbo coupe
I have long thought that the Thunderbird's leather raven interior is among the nicest interiors of any car, especially the seats.

Nice car!  A lot of work went into it already.

congrats!  I know who's the most proud; I don't know who looks more tired in that pic, however. :)

Well done.

User Rides / Back in a fox. 1988 Turbo Coupe. The life journal.

... I downshift to come up to the stop light, and when I put my foot on the clutch to come to a stop, the car stalls out. As soon as it stalls out, I hear the distinctive sound of receiving a Facebook message. I crank and crank the car and it sputters to life and dies a few times. I finally get it fired up by keeping it throttled up and I bang a U-turn through a parking lot and zip home....

Shawn,

I wonder if you popped off (or loosened a vacuum or intake hose (pre-turbo)...

Engine Tech / gillis over boost no change with turns
I had initially switched mine, too, and thought the further in I screwed it, the lower the boost would be.  I kept overboosting to 18psi.  Mine is fairly far backed out to get 12 psi, but each rotation in adds about 2 psi. ;)

I love the difference the gillis valve makes in driveability, though.  The on/off switch is much lower in the power band. :D

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / 5.0 HO valve covers or a tad taller equal type *solved*
I glued two thick (1/4"?) cork/butyl valve cover gaskets together and used mini-studs for the valve covers.  It added about 1/2 inch of clearance, which is just what I needed.  This fix was for a 66 Mustang with a 97 5.0L with 1.7 Cobra roller rockers and stock 66 valve covers (stealth).  This fix for additional clearance may also work for you.  Just a thought.
