all of em are v8 dual exaust cars, stiffer springs, have a turbo coupe console with the floor shift, and blacked out accents on the car instead of chrome. i could be missing a few things...

they had either a full digital dash, or buttstuffog, had a rear swaybar, i think they came with the 8 hole wheels, the 14's

i wish i remembered the VIN breakdown, i can find it shortly
It's Gumby's fault.

If it's a Sport the VIN will start off as 1FABP61
LX's are 1FABP62
Regular T-Birds are 1FABP60
and TC's are 1FABP64

87 Sports have full digital cluster and base (non-TC) seats
88 Sports have full buttstuffogue cluster and TC seats

All have 7.5" traction-lock rear, floor shifter, stiffer springs/swaybars/shocks/struts, and lacked out trim.

That's the base standard cluster. It's somewhat like the full digital but without all the bells and whistles.

All '88 V8 Birds and Cougs had the quasi-duals (an exhaust system that I think is needlessly complicated - a y-pipe, a single center pipe, another y-pipe, two lers and two tailpipes - WTF? I yanked it all off and put full duals on mine)

Some base and LX cars had the rear sway bar as well. Mine (base)  has one but it's about as thick as a pencil

Strange thing about the Tbird LX is its the luxry model, on a Stang it was the basic model..

Those models did receive a small LX emble on the driverside trunk lid, and often have the extras like corner lights, premium sound, ATC, etc.

Actually on just about all other Fords the LX was the high level model. The rare LTD/LX, the Crown Vic LX, Escort LX and even late models like the Windstar and Taurus LX's are always higher trim levels (and in some cases, like the LTD/LX, an actual performance option). I think it was only the Mustang that used the LX badge on the bottom feeder (though I seem to remember Mustang GL's, GLX's, and L's as well, and I think all were below LX trim level in the early-mid 80's)

Nobody mentioned the Sport also has the quad shocks like the TC and Mustang.
