The rare LTD/LX, the Crown Vic LX, Escort LX and even late models like the Windstar and Taurus LX's are always higher trim levels (and in some cases, like the LTD/LX, an actual performance option). I think it was only the Mustang that used the LX badge on the bottom feeder (though I seem to remember Mustang GL's, GLX's, and L's as well, and I think all were below LX trim level in the early-mid 80's) Quote Selected
