rearview mirror auto dim wiring

hi all,

the rearview mirror on my TC fell off of the windshield prior to me buying the car.  the mirror itself is in rough shape and needs to be replaced.  I don't really care about the auto dim feature personally, but I would like to know if its power is being shared with anything else and whether or not it needs to be hooked back up.  currently the wiring for that is tucked up under the headliner.

if the wiring isn't sharing any power, I'm going to throw on a $11 or $12 mirror I grabbed on amazon!

Looking at the EVTM with the Hi-Lo Beam Photocell Amplifier disconnected:
If the dimmer control thumb wheel next to the headlight switch gets moved out of the OFF position, you will be stuck on low beams. You will not be able to switch on the high beams.
With the multifunction switch in the high beams position and the dimmer thumb wheel is ON, the indicator light by the thumb wheel will be on. This will be your heads-up to why your high beams don't work.

softtouch is dead on with what really happens with respect to the need of the thumbwheel being in the OFF position.
